About HW Mediators

We, at HW Mediators, have a passion for helping people. Trying to make things easier in times of trouble.

Martin used to be a lecturer in law and business administration, who then went on to teach English in the Middle East and Libya.
As a young man, he spent 2 years at the South African base in Antarctica and spent several years in the merchant navy.
He recently retired and lives in Gordons Bay.

Nerena is a housewife and mother of two who has lived abroad for many years.
While living in the Middle East, she taught adult English and worked as a teacher in a Nursery school.
She currently lives in Somerset West.

Both of us have a good understanding and appreciation for resolving problems in an amicable way. An understanding of the rifts that can be created by misunderstandings. An appreciation for the fact that underneath all our differences, we all just want to be heard and understood.
This is the fundamental starting point of mediation. To listen and try to understand what both parties want.

We are based in the Helderberg Basin, but are willing to travel as needed.
We also collaborate with mediators nationally.

We, and our partners, have all successfully completed the mediation course presented by Mediation in Motion through the University of Cape Town.

We are affiliated with the Mediation in Motion platform and Members of the Social Justice Association of Mediators, where clients can access details of qualified mediators. We adhere very strictly to the mediators code of confidentiality and impartiality.
